An exhibition of art works can be seen in the window of the building in Grizinkalns in Riga. To be seen from the street this initiative is an opportunity to see art in the urban environment.

From 15.04.2022. – 30.06.2022. IRMA Collaborative presents an installation Agreement created by Estonian artist Kati Kerstna. Two hands made of fragile glass facing each other underline the current emotional mood in the context of the war in Ukraine.

Kati’s work inspired by the 2015 Paris Climate agreement and 1919 Paris Peace agreement underline the importance of all agreements between nations in a global context. Certainly, current events point to the profound significance of global agreements. The artist states: If we have extended our hand, we should reach out with our heart, respect, and kindness as well. No other option should be accepted, or possible, at all. I think that if we care about the world, we care about ourselves - but if we only care about ourselves, nothing really matters to us.

Kati Kerstna is recipient of IRMA Collaborative Annual Grant promoting experimental and innovative approaches to making contemporary art with glass in the Baltics.
