From October 25 to December 29, 2023. IRMA Collaborative’s LOGS MÃKSLAI Gallery is pleased to present the artwork Tautologies created by David Schnuckel – artist and Assistant Professor of Glass in the School for American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, USA.
David Schnuckel is an artist whose ideas pivot around glass, a writer who wanders through issues prompted by glass, and an educator who challenges students to explore their questions and curiosities through glass and glass-related thinking.
In his installation Tautologies, the process of blowing glass is considered as a language system of its own through the conceptual lenses of repetition, translation, and wrongness. The same sequence of generating a singular glass object is told differently through things heard, things made, words spoken, and actions taken.
No 2023. gada 25. oktobra līdz 29. decembrim. IRMA Collaborative galerija LOGS MÃKSLAI ar prieku skatītājiem piedāvā mākslas darbu Mācītspēks, ko radījis Deivids Šnakels (David Schnuckel) – mākslinieks un asociētais professors stikla mākslas programmā Ročesteras Tehnoloģiju institūta Amerikas Amatniecības skolā Ročesterā, Ņujorkā, ASV.
Deivids Šnakels ir mākslinieks, kura idejas vijās ap stiklu, rakstnieks, kurš klīst pa stikla radītām problēmām, un pedagogs, kurš aicina studentus risināt savus jautājumus un piepildīt zinātkāri, izmantojot stiklu un ar stiklu saistītu domāšanu.
Viņa instalācijā Mācītspēks stikla pūšanas process tiek aplūkots kā sava veida valodas sistēma, izmantojot atkārtojuma, tulkošanas un nepareizības konceptuālos aspektus. Viena un tā pati atsevišķa stikla objekta izgatavošanas secība tiek stāstīta atšķirīgi, izmantojot dzirdēto, izdarīto, runātos vārdus un veiktās darbības.
